MGF Asia 2016: World Exclusives at the Most Senior Mobile Games Event in the World

MGF, the world’s premium mobile games event, returned to Hong Kong for a hugely successful second year that featured robots, VR, world exclusive releases, and more C-level attendees than any other mobile games event

Hong Kong: MGF Asia, the world’s premium mobile games event, returned to Hong Kong on April 12th-13th at the 5* Mira Hotel for the most senior gathering of mobile games professionals in the world. 450+ attendees came together for the summit, with over 50% Founder or C-level, and with an elite audience consisting entirely of the industry’s senior decision makers and strategy shapers.

The Mobile Games Forum explored the future and current trends of the industry, covering topics such as eSports and live streaming, cross-platform convergence, virtual reality, regional breakdowns across Asia, and how to nurture innovation. Headline speakers presenting on these topics included:

  • Henry Yeh, Managing Director, gumi Asia

Further to this, MGF Asia showcased many of the gems of the global gaming and tech space. Most notably Aldebaran Robotics’ humanoid NAO robot made his first ever public appearance in Hong Kong, CCP Games gave a demo of their groundbreaking VR game Gunjack, and Hong Kong’s own JetOne Motion were displaying their state-of-the art VR Walker, among others.

The summit was also the sight of two world exclusive report releases: MGF collaborated with EEDAR (Electronic Entertainment Design and Research) and Priori Data to release two reports breaking down the Asian mobile gaming space, and offering invaluable new insights into gaming’s biggest continent.
