Chinese Student Diagnosed with ‘Spring Fever’ After Believing ‘Whole School Girls Like Me’

With the arrival of spring and the blossoming of peach flowers, a 20-year-old male college student from Jiangsu province began to believe that “all the girls in the school like me,” leading to a diagnosis of “Spring Fever” mental illness and sparking attention.

According to reports from Litchi News, 20-year-old Xiaoliu, a sophomore at a university in Jiangsu, began experiencing mental health issues last month. He consistently believed that the girls around him liked him, interpreting even a glance from someone as a hint of affection.

Dr. Lu Zhenjiao, an inpatient physician in the Substance Dependence Department of Huai’an Third People’s Hospital, explained that the student considered himself the most handsome in the school and consistently believed that many female classmates liked him. Consequently, he confessed his feelings to various female students in the school, causing a lot of trouble for his classmates. Even if his advances were rejected, he believed that it was due to the other person’s reluctance to lose face.

Moreover, due to continuous mental excitement, Xiaoliu often experienced symptoms such as staying up all night, lack of concentration in class, and spending money recklessly.

Finally, after a medical diagnosis, it was determined that Xiaoliu was suffering from a mental illness called “amorous delusion,” also known as “Spring Fever.” Lu Zhenjiao explained that Spring Fever mainly occurs in spring and is characterized by excitement, loquacity, a sense of strong ability, the belief that others like oneself, and heightened sexual arousal. In severe cases, it may lead to irritability, aggression towards others, and impulsive behavior towards others.

Ultimately, with psychological and medication treatment, Xiaoliu’s condition has begun to improve.

Netizen comments:

Many mental illnesses are more prevalent in spring, so there’s nothing funny about it!

The weather and environment are constantly changing in spring, and hormonal levels are affected as well, making it easier for many patients to relapse in spring.

Imagining that all the girls in the school like oneself, this sense of happiness comes unexpectedly!

Believing that everyone likes oneself must be a mental illness, but believing that nobody likes oneself is an objective fact. At least that’s how it seems to me.

In short, it’s just being horny.

Isn’t this excessive narcissism?
