According to Chinese media reports, recently, a female teacher surnamed Zhang at a certain middle school in Xuhui District, Shanghai, was “publicly accused by her husband of having an affair with a 16-year-old student.” A large number of explicit WeChat chat records were exposed, and the incident became a hot topic on Weibo, attracting public attention. The Shanghai No.2 High School, where the teacher works, reported on the 19th (Monday) that it immediately initiated an investigation with relevant departments and suspended the teacher involved.
The report stated that according to messages posted by netizens, on the morning of February 16, a WeChat user claiming to be the husband of a chemistry teacher and a senior high school class teacher at a middle school in Xuhui District, Shanghai, publicly forwarded multiple screenshots of WeChat conversations between his wife surnamed Zhang and a 16-year-old male high school student. He accused his wife of “having an affair” and “having a relationship with a minor,” questioning how someone with such moral corruption could qualify to teach and educate others. He even sarcastically referred to their conversation as a “guide to seducing minors.” After this incident circulated on platforms like Baidu Tieba, it became a trending topic on Weibo on February 18, drawing significant attention.
Photos of the two individuals and numerous explicit WeChat chat records were exposed online. According to Zhang’s husband, in order not to be discovered for her infidelity, Zhang changed the contact name of the student on WeChat to the name of a graduated female student.
The conversation records showed that the dialogue between the two resembled that of a couple in love, with the male frequently complimenting Zhang’s appearance, saying she looked beautiful and young like a student, while Zhang often sent her own photos to him. It was evident from the content that the male was well aware that Zhang was married and explicitly told her that he could not be her third party.
The two also went on dates to private cinemas and hotels, among other places. In the conversation, Zhang mentioned, “I’ll go crazy if someone sees our chat records,” so they reminded each other to “be careful.”
On the morning of February 19, the Education Bureau of Xuhui District responded to the Southern Metropolis Daily, saying they were aware of the incident and that an investigation was underway.
The Shanghai No.2 High School, where the teacher involved works, reported on the 19th (Monday): “Recently, rumors have spread online about ‘a female teacher at our school having an inappropriate relationship with a student.’ The school attaches great importance to this matter, immediately initiated an investigation with relevant departments, and has suspended the teacher involved. Subsequently, based on the investigation results, appropriate legal and disciplinary actions will be taken.”
